I am stunned. Not because I'm a Packers fan (I'm not) or a Favre fan (not that either, see here) but because after coming so close to the Superbowl last season, I figured he'd try to get closer this coming season.
But now I get to witness the end of an era. Make no mistake, Favre has made a lasting contribution to the game of football. He's set a lot of records that will no doubt be hard for others to achieve. He has been entertaining to watch, and for that I say thank you Mr. Favre.
I also am glad he's not keeping everyone up in the air until the last possible moment while he decides whether or not to retire. This time it's for real. I know the fans in Green Bay will miss you Brett.
