NFL Football Week 9 2009 Picks UPDATES

Well, had I gotten my picks in on time I’d have done pretty well – only losing the Packers game.  Oh well!  Now the Bucs have taken themselves off the winless list, so congratulations to them.

UPDATES:  Wow, the Chargers pulled it out in the final seconds of the game to beat the Giants.

Hmph, just 2 out of 4 for the afternoon games.  I’m losing my touch!

UPDATES:  Goodness, in the remaining 6 games this week I only got 50%.  That sucks!  If only I’d gotten my picks in on time I’d be 9/13, instead of 3/6.  Oh well.  I’ll simply have to do better this week, and get things posted by Wednesday.  Thursday games are coming!

Don’t forget, Thursday games start this week on NFL network!

Teams with 0 wins:  Buccaneers.
Teams with 0 losses: Saints, Colts.

NFL Football Week 8 2009 Picks UPDATES

UPDATES:  Well, I guess 5/8 isn’t awful … but it’s not great either.  Did anyone really expect the Eagles to spank the Giants like that?  Wow!  And the Broncos going down, to the Ravens?  I honestly didn’t think the Ravens had it in them to beat an undefeated team.  I seriously didn’t expect the Dolphins to take down the Jets either, but those runs, did you see Ginn on those runs?  Awesome!  Even if I do hate the Dolphins, that guy sure made football pretty today!

I heard Favre got booed in Green Bay today.  Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy, heheheh.  :)

UPDATES:  Oh my, 2 teams who’d gone into this week without a win both scored one in the W column.  Congratulations to the Rams and the Titans.  And I’m 7/12.  Ugh!

UPDATES:  The Falcons really made a game of it!  It was fun to watch and a nail-biter through some parts, but the Saints pulled it out and remain 1 of the 2 remaining undefeated teams.  Congratulations guys!

NFL Football Week 7 2009 Picks UPDATES

UPDATES:  Woo!  What a great feeling!  All my early picks won, and Brett Favre lost!  What a great way to start Football Sunday!

UPDATES:  How ‘bout those Saints?!  Betcha didn’t think they’d come back to defeat the Dolphins!  They’re on a roll this season.  :)

UPDATES:  There are times when being wrong really sucks.  This is not one of those times.  Woo Cardinals!  Good for you for pulling it off and sticking it to the Giants!  :D

UPDATES:  Not bad, I end up with 11/13.  Could be better, but could also be a lot worse, like last week!

NFL Football Week 7 2009 Picks

Ready for some thrills and spills in WK 7?  The Patriots/Bucs game is over in London this week, so the fans for both teams lose out.  I have to say I’m not pleased with this aspect of the NFL.  But that’s for a post all on it’s own.

I don’t think the Vikings will be able to maintain their winning streak against the Steelers this week.  I think that Steel Curtain will come down on them, and finally take down Favre.  Please take down Favre!

NFL Football Week 6 2009 Picks UPDATES

Congratulations to the Chiefs for ending their losing streak.   :)  And to the Saints for holding on to their winning streak and taking down the Giants.  Made my day!  Woo!

UPDATES: Wow, I really dropped the ball on that one.  I updated my cards and I guess I just didn’t realize that I hadn’t finished updating the page here.  So sorry about that!  I ended the week on a dismal 9/14.  Barely 50%.  Ugh!  Hopefully I’ll do better in WK 7.

NFL Football Week 6 2009 Picks

Nothing like remembering at the last minute that you still haven’t done your picks and game time starts in 20 minutes!  Whew!  I think I’m getting it in just in the nick of time.

I think the Giants/Saints was one of my toughest calls.  The Saints are on a winning streak, and the Giants are too, so this is going to be a battle because neither team is going to part with that undefeated banner easily.  I think the Saints will give the upset though.

NFL Football Week 5 2009 Picks UPDATES

UPDATES:  Congratulations to the Browns and the Panthers for taking themselves off the winless list!  Yes, even though it messes up my otherwise perfect stats.  Every team should have wins sometime.  Unless, of course, they’re playing my beloved Patriots.  :D

UPDATES:  Well, I did say that my picks would probably be skunked.  Looks like I was right – I missed every single afternoon game.  *ouch*

I wanted to share something my son said though, on hearing that Orton threw his first pick of the season against the Pats – he said, '”Orton hears a boo.”  That made me laugh.  :)

UPDATES:  Ugh!  Another 50% week!  I swear, I don’t know what’s wrong with me lately!  But I am glad the Jets lost.

NFL Football Week 5 2009 Picks

Teams with 0 wins: Titans, Buccaneers, Rams, Chiefs, Panthers, Browns.

Teams with 0 losses: Saints, Colts, Broncos, Giants, Vikings.

Can you believe we’re 1/4 of the way through the season?  Me either!

There didn’t seem to be any games that were especially difficult for me to pick this week.  The Patriots/Broncos – again, lots of people will pick the Broncos and with good reason.  Their stats are better.  But they’re still my beloved Patriots and I can’t pick against them.  Other than that, looks like an easy week, which means my picks will get skunked, just watch!  I’ll probably end up 2/14.  Oh well, it’s all in fun, right?  Right??  ;)

See you Sun and Mon with updates.

NFL Football Week 4 2009 Picks UPDATES

UPDATES:  I am feeling pretty good.  :)  I can’t even remember the last time I correctly called all the early games.  Woo!  Halfway there!  Now we’ll see how the late/Monday games go!

UPDATES:  Wow!  Did you see that Cowboys/Broncos game?  Now that’s what I call some football!

And I have to ask, did anyone really expect the winless Dolphins to beat the Bills?

So, I lost the Steelers game.  Really, as much as I loathe Phillip Rivers and the Chargers, I don’t mind at all.  Although it was iffy there for a while, and I thought the Chargers just might pull it out.  I swear, before I posted my picks I must have changed that one at least 4 times.  Oh well, still down by only 2 so far this week, with 1 game left to go.  Overall, not bad.

UPDATES:  As expected, the Vikings took on the Pack and won.  Things might be different next month at Lambeau though, we’ll see.

I end the week at 12/14, with a season total so far of 46/62.

NFL Football Week 4 2009 Picks

Teams with 0 wins so far: Panthers, Rams, Dolphins, Buccaneers, Chiefs, Browns, Titans.
Teams with 0 losses so far: Vikings, Broncos, Saints, Jets, Ravens, Giants, Colts.

I know, I know, some of you are looking at my Ravens/Pats pick and thinking I’m nuts.  No, I’m not, I’m just a Pats fan and Lord help me, I just can’t pick another team to beat them.  My fingers won’t let me type it.  So, while the Ravens may have better stats than the Pats, I still have faith in my beloved team.

The Chargers/Steelers game was really hard for me to pick too.  Partly because I have dear friends who are Steelers fans and they might beat me up if I pick against their beloved team, and partly because the Steelers are at home, where they seem to play better.  But the Chargers seem to have better stats right now.  They may even up after Sunday’s game though.  Tough call.

Looks like we’re going to have some good football this weekend!

NFL Football Week 3 2009 Picks UPDATES

UPDATES:  Early games are done and so far, not too bad.  I’m 7/9.  They went pretty much as I thought they would, except for that Redskins/Lions game – did anyone expect the Lions to pull that one out?  How awesome for them!  Congratulations Lions, for a great win!

UPDATES:  Wow, the Bengals pulled it out in the last couple of minutes and took a win over the Steelers.  That was a pretty exciting game!  I’m sure Bengals fans everywhere are cheering – and I know for sure my neighbors are.  Should have gone with my gut on that one.  As of now, I’m 11/14, with 2 games to go.

UPDATES:  Well, that’s much better!  Thank you Colts and Cowboys for bringing my stats up.  I end this week at 13/16, and have a season total of 34/48.
