UPDATES: Well, I missed a total of 5 games.  That’s not too bad, a 70% success rate. 

UPDATES: For some reason, I listed the Giants twice, including in tonight’s game against the Cowboys.  I must be on drugs or something, because I meant to put the Redskins in that slot, and I meant to list the Cowboys as being the victors in that game.

Doggone, I can’t remember the scores from the games this weekend!  I know who won though and the Superbowl is going to be awesome.  I heard on TV that there haven’t been 2 #1 seeds in the Superbowl since 1993. 

And what a big deal for the Saints!  First time in franchise history!  So a big congratulations to them!  Way to go, guys! 

Congratulations to the Colts too.  2nd time in, what, 4 years?  So that’s pretty special too.

NFL Football Week 17 2009 Picks UPDATES

It’s the last series of games of the regular season.  Then come the play-offs when the real fun begins.  Some teams are already in the bag, but there are a few still fighting here.  For a more complete picture of who’s still in the hunt, check out the play-off picture on NFL.com.

UPDATES:  Well, no real surprises I suppose.  I was sorta hoping my beloved Patriots would end the season with a win, but it was not to be.  Praying for Welker. 

I also thought the Saints would try to end on a win, make a statement of some sort.  Not.

And the Browns?  I guess Mangini was fighting for his job a bit harder than I gave him credit for.  Ugh. 

Coach carousel begins tonight and tomorrow so that’s going to be fun. 

 

UPDATES:  Cardinals, what the heck happened??

And I guess the Eagles aren’t the team they were purported to be.  “Oh, they’re so great in the 2nd half, so explosive!”  Yadda yadda yadda.  Yeah.  Explosively blanked. 

Broncos, you asked for that. 

I’m 9/15, with only 1 game left in the season.  Hmm.

 

UPDATES:  Oh my gosh, blanked in the last game of the season!  How humiliating!  Even if you really had nothing to play for,  you could have at least made an effort, Bengals! 

So, I end the season at 9/16.  That gives me a collective season total of 159/249.  That’s 90 losses all season long and an average week for me looked like 9.35/14.65.  Not horrible, but not great either.  Still, it’s better than 50/50 so I can live with that.

NFL Football Week 16 2009 Picks UPDATES

UPDATES:  It just goes to show that anything can happen in the last couple of weeks of the regular season.  Teams are in the playoff hunt, and anything can happen – like the Bucs beating the Saints in OT.  Wow!  Whoda thunk? 

The Patriots and Bengals have now clinched their divisions. 

UPDATES:  The Colts lost?  *thud*  Well well well.  I call foul on that one.  The fans deserved a win.  They deserved to see their team play, and win a game they should have won. 

And the Bears took down Favre and the Vikings in OT??  Well blow me down again!  I’m bummed about losing my pick, but oh boy I love to see Favre lose!  So I count it as a personal win, even though it’s a stats loss.  I can live with that.  :)  And I end the next to last week of the regular season at 9/16.  Blech. 

And so ends the last game of the year.

NFL Football Week 15 2009 Picks UPDATES

Well now.  Did anyone really think the Colts were going to lose?

UPDATES: Just an FYI – the Bears/Ravens game time has been changed due to inclement weather, to 4:15 pm.

UPDATES:  WOW!  Did you see that?  What a game!  And the Saints fall out of the undefeated zone to the Cowboys.

UPDATES:  Looks like the 49ers/Eagles game was also changed to 4:15 as well.  So far I’m 5/8, so not doing so hot.  Maybe the later games will redeem me?

UPDATES:  Goodness, was that a game or what?  Looked for sure like the Steelers were going down again, but they pulled it out in the final seconds of the game and beat the Pack.  But I suck – only 8/14 so far, barely over 50%.  *sigh*  Good for the Bucs though, for getting themselves off the “only 1 win” list.  :)

UPDATES:  Well, I hate losing a pick, but it’s always such a pleasure to see Favre go down that it’s pretty much worth it.  :)

NFL Football Week 14 2009 Picks UPDATES

Oh. My. Gosh!  What is UP with the Steelers?  They’ve let me down the last 5 games, and I thought for sure against the Browns … for sure!  I mean, it’s the Browns!  Wow.  But, although I do love me some Big Ben and some Troy, I’m not what you’d call a Steelers fan.  And although I hate Mangini with a red, white, and silver passion, I am happy for the Browns fans.  They’ve been on the losing end a lot lately so I’m sure this win felt pretty good to them.  Warm too!  Dang that game was cold!

However, this does not bode well for the rest of my football week.

UPDATES:  Not a bad start to the week, just one loss in the early games so no real surprises there.  I was hoping the Bengals would take down the Vikings though – they seem to be on a real streak lately.  Oh well. 

UPDATES:  What an intense game up there between the Eagles and Giants!   That leaves me 12/15 so far for the week, so I’m pretty happy about that.  Could be loads worse!

NFL Football Week 12 2009 Picks UPDATES

As Meatloaf once said, 2 outta 3 ain’t bad.  Hope your Thanksgiving is wonderful.  :)

UPDATES:  I feel bad for Rams fans – I heard their game was blacked out.  I don’t blame them though, they haven’t had much to support this year.  Or last year either.

Do you ever get the feeling the refs are in the bag for the Colts?  Seems like calls are always going in their favor.  Makes you wonder if they win because they’re that good, or if it’s just because the officials want them to. 

UPDATES:  Wow!  Did you see that last second catch by the Titans?  Wow!  What a game!  Wish I could have seen the whole thing and not just the highlights.
