NFL Football WK 2 Picks UPDATES

UPDATES:  I guess 12-3 isn’t terribly bad, right?  That’s 4/5ths.  I caught some of the 1st half of tonight’s game, and boy oh boy, was it a game!  It seemed every couple of minutes the crowd was screaming about another touchdown.  Back and forth it went, almost like a ping-pong match.  It was an exciting game, that’s for sure!  Are we ready for Week 3?

UPDATES: Well, I mucked up that Titans – Bengals pick big time!  I’d heard so much about Vince Young and I figured the team was going to spin out so I came in Saturday night and changed my pick from Titans to Bengals.  Yeah.  I’m a dumbass!  Oh well.  My record so far this week is 11-3, with one game left to go on Monday night.  I think it promises to be a great game!  Think they miss ol’ #4 in Green Bay yet?  I don’t.  And did you see him get sacked by Adelius Thomas this afternoon??  For us, it was an awesome spectacle!  And the stupid Seahawks!  Losing to the 49ers in OT!  Thanks guys!  Oh well.  Interesting factoid – as of right now, there are 8 teams that are 2-0, and 11 that are 0-2.

RAVENS-TEXANS POSTPONED UNTIL NOVEMBER 9

Posted by Mike Florio on September 13, 2008, 6:03 p.m. EDT

Chris Mortensen reports (and we’ve confirmed) that the Week Two game between the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans has been postponed until November 9.

A league source tells us that the Texans were unwilling to play the game this weekend in any place but Houston.

And so the bye week square-dance that a reader suggested to us earlier in the week is the approach the NFL will use.  The Bengals-Texans game moves from November 9 to October 26, the Bengals’ bye moves from October 26 to November 9, and the Ravens and Texans will take their bye in Week Two.

It means that the Ravens and Texans will play 15 straight games without a break, and that any plans the players on either team had for their respective bye weeks (the Texans on October 26 and the Ravens on November 9) will now change.

Here we go week 2!  First off, please note the date/time change for the Ravens-Texans game.  It has been moved to Monday night, thanks to Ike, and will be broadcast regionally.

Some teams seemed to get off to a strong start in week 1, like the Bears and the Eagles.  Some teams suffered season-long losses, *cries LOUDLY on the keyboard*, that will impact their season.  It’s still pretty early to get a bead on some teams though, so with that in mind, here are my picks for week 2.
